Who We Are…
Breast Cancer Action Manitoba (BCAM), a grassroots survivor driven organization, was formed in 1997. The mandate of BCAM was to provide support and education to women living with breast cancer.
The BCAM volunteer Board of Directors is composed solely of women living with breast cancer. In 1998 we became incorporated and received charitable organization status. Our present focus is to promote awareness and education aimed at reducing the risk of recurrence of those living with breast cancer and those who are at risk of being diagnosed with this life altering disease.
Welcome to the Breast Cancer Action Manitoba website! We believe that knowledge is power. The goal of this website is to provide awareness of the many causes of cancer and information about what people can do to reduce their risk of a cancer diagnosis or a recurrence. Our slogan Imagine a World without Cancer reflects our vision of a time when nobody has to hear the life changing words “You have cancer.”
